I'm Yi Xin (Chester) Huang

About me

I'm a computer science graduate from Lacaster University. I've learnt and primarily code in Java, C and Python, however I'm looking to learn more languages and is currently learning C# for building applications in Unity Engine and ASP.NET. Below you can find some personal projects and courseworks that I've done.

Ncurses Pacman

A simplified recreation the classic game, Pac-Man. Implemented in C coupled with the Ncurses library as the ASCII graphics. Featuring 2 types of ghosts; ghosts that walk in random directions or ghosts with simple path finding AI that walks towards the player.

The Quest for the Abodeth

An Indiana Jones adventure inspired roguelite, fighting through rooms of different enemies with various wepons to find treasures. A game developed by my friends and I for a group project. Drawing all assets from scratch and coding the game in Java.

Castle Conquest

A 2D platformer created using Unity. It is a Personel project experimenting and familiarising myself with C# and the Unity engine following online tutorials.

Responsive Web Design

A coursework using CSS and html to redesign the Lancaster University homepage to be more responsive. Images provided for coursework by the university.

Code Syntax Checker

A coursework to created a program that checks if programs have the correct syntax for compilation with a given custom set of syntax rules. Includes files provided for the coursework.

Ryu-Firewall

A coursework invovling making a firewall using Openflow controller in Ryu SDN.

Acoustic-based Device-Free Finger Motion Tracking

A paper exploring a system that can extends the user’s interaction with their smart device beyond the screen through writing on the surface next to the device with their fingers.
